Personal Bio

Harold D. Lewis, Sr. is a native of Greenwood, Mississippi

He holds the Bachelor’s Art Degree from Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, MS, the Master’s of Divinity from Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA and an Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Theology from the Reformed Methodist Church in Toledo, OH and is presently a doctoral student with the University of the Rockies in Colorado Springs, CO.

He has served churches in the Mississippi and Baltimore-Washington Annual Conferences

His leadership in Annual Conferences includes serving on the Board of Ordained Ministry, serving as Chairperson of the District Committees on Ministry, serving as Chairperson of conference Strengthening the Black Church for 21st Century, serving as Chairperson of conference Ethnic Local Church and Concerns Committee.
Since his appointment to the Florida Annual Conference, he has begun working with local churches using the ReFocus and NCD models.  He will be serving local churches as a Pastoral coach and resource person for new church starts, congregational transformation and developing effective pastoral leaders.
He has been awarded numerous awards and citations for his exceptional leadership abilities. In 2007, the National Council of Negro Women in Washington, DC awarded him the Community Leader of the Year Award.

He holds active membership in a number of community and civic organizations including a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, Life Member of Black Methodist for Church Renewal and the Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club.

He is married and he and his wife, Janet, live in Lakeland, FL and they have seven god-given children and four grand-children.

His personal coined philosophy on life is “Never let anyone else’s negative opinions of you become your reality.”
