“Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids”

Character Education Program

 

 

 

 

Purpose
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids Character Education Program teaches
morals and values to children in grades K-5. The Program consists
of a leadership club and six (6) activity modules developed around
a specific theme (i.e. self-esteem, bullying, peer pressure, lying,
stealing, and the importance of education), and has three (3)
hierarchical goals namely:

  1. To promote social responsibility and good character
    development to help students incorporate values necessary
    for high achievement by providing professional development
    to K-5 teachers

  2. To provide opportunities for students to engage in discussion
    of relevant and complicated character traits and dilemmas by
    providing professional development training to K-5 teachers

  3. To integrate character traits into existing curriculum and
    to use current issues in addressing specific character traits

 

Dissemination and Delivery

1. Materials available to School Districts, Charter Schools, and
education communities worldwide

2. Training of Model to participating educators for professional
development

3. Training to audiences including:
Principals, Superintendents, Teachers, Student Government Presidents, Paraprofessionals, State Representatives,
School Counselors and Social Workers
